We take action on our ongoing campaign for plastic waste prevention

We are finding ways to educate communities on the issues, working at the grassroots level. One of our focuses is on reducing food packaging because it is closely related to food issues. In Central America, plastic is often burned and buried in the ground, affecting the ocean, rivers, the soil conditions and food production in the family garden. In the US we create so much waste we try to ship it oversees but it comes back to our shores.

We work on the zero waste goals of reducing waste, diverting food waste, creating reuse options and using recycled materials, beginning with Bay Area and Central American communities.
